Buffalo City Mission believes that everyone deserves a second chance in life.
We believe that people can change. That no one is “too far gone.” That God freely gives us grace, love and countless second chances. That’s because we see amazing transformations every day!
Our heart is for helping our neighbors who have been trapped in destructive patterns of homelessness, addiction or abuse. Giving them the support and strength to break free through the grace of God.

Our Mission
The Buffalo City Mission exists to restore hope and dignity to the hurting and homeless through the transforming grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
The vision of the Buffalo City Mission is to reduce homelessness for men, women, children and families in Western New York through the provision of emergency shelter, food, transitional housing, education, and linkages to other supportive services, and in this process transform souls for Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to proclaim and demonstrate the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, caring for the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of men, women and children in need of hope.
Culture Statement
Our culture is rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ; for the purpose of glorifying God and edifying all. We lead with honest, positive, thoughtful leadership-fostering trust, communication, respect, encouragement, growth, laughter, and love. In the spirit of Matthew 25:35 we seek to serve others as Christ, in unity, hoping in his return.
Our Statement of Faith
Buffalo City Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization. We are committed to the following essential truths of biblical Christianity.
- We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and therefore our only authority.
- We believe in the Trinity of the Godhead.
- We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God.
- We believe in the fall of man and his need for redemption.
- We believe in the Deity, incarnation and virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- We believe in Christ’s vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross.
- We believe in Christ’s bodily resurrection from the tomb and His Ascension into Heaven.
- We believe in Jesus Christ’s personal, imminent return.
- We believe in the Personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the justification of the believer by grace through faith.
- We believe in a literal Satan who is our adversary.
- We believe in a literal Heaven for the redeemed and a literal hell for the lost.

CORE Values
Buffalo City Mission ascribes to a non-denominational, evangelical Christian confession of faith (our Statement of Faith) and requires all individuals in leadership to do the same.
1. We value people as eternal beings created in God’s image with inherent dignity and worth.
2. We believe that every person, no matter how adverse the circumstances, is redeemable by God and can live a life of meaning and purpose.
3. We teach individuals to accept responsibility for their actions and encourage them to become people of integrity, responsibility and commitment.
1. Our leadership will have a missionary calling, expressing cultural and Christian diversity, serving God and man as a team, and maintaining the highest level of personal integrity and commitment.
2. We are committed to helping each individual reach and attain their God-given potential.
3. All staff and leadership must know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and regard cultivating their personal relationship with Him as their highest priority and calling.

In my role as Interim CEO and Executive Director, I am privileged to work alongside our dedicated Board of Directors and staff. Together, we invite you to partner with us in the ongoing work of strengthening our community by restoring families and rebuilding lives.
