People in Buffalo
are still struggling today.
Each year in WNY, an estimated
5,500 individuals are homeless
Over half are experiencing
homelessness for the first time.
26.6% of those experiencing
homelessness are children.
TODAY the Buffalo City Mission
has a vision to make that “DREAM” a reality.
Our programs support the many faces of the Mission’s DREAM.
In order for hearts to be open to change, we must first meet the physical needs of the people we serve. We seek to address poverty, hopelessness, and homelessness in a way that is both transformational and Christ-centered. We must first give hope for today through addressing immediate needs, such as a hot shower, warm bed, personal hygiene, three nutritious meals, case management and personal identification recovery to help begin the process toward a better tomorrow.
DREAM Transitional Program
The DREAM transitional program is a process that provides a pathway to a stable life where individuals have the opportunity to build a better tomorrow. Once a person commits to the “DREAM”, our case management team begins to help them uncover their gifts and talents through many services and programs we provide so they have a second chance at a life of self-sufficiency. These include Transitional Housing, Socialization Skills, Financial Literacy, Housing Management, Employment and Career Development, Education (HSE, Pre-Collegiate and Certification Programs), Health and Wellness, Substance Abuse and Recovery Services, and Spiritual Growth.
In addition to the same programs and services as Women, the Buffalo City Mission also provides child oriented services such as Early Child Care Program, Life Skills and Parenting Classes, After School Program and Summer Camp Program.
