Women and Children's Shelter (Cornerstone Manor)
After School Homework Club follows the Buffalo Board of Education School Calendar
Help program coordinator in executing creative activities, helping children with their homework, playing games and lending a hand with snack time!
M, T, W, Th, Fr, 3:00 pm 6:00 pm or 4:00 pm -- 6:00 pm
Volunteer must make at least a 2-3 month commitment.
Day Care Infant & Toddler/Preschool
Assist teacher in executing creative activities, playing with children and helping with lunch/snack time. Volunteer must possess positive attitude; respect and acceptance for each child’s needs; physically able to handle children’s high energy level.
Infant: Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Toddler/Preschool: Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Men's Community Center and Women and Children's Shelter (Combined Needs)
Kitchen Help
Assist our chefs with meal preparations, dining room set up and serving food! Must be physically able to lift 30 lbs. and stand on your feet for at least 3 hours.
Administrative Offices
Assist with general office duties including mailing, data entry, filing and correspondence. We also need volunteers with advanced computer skills in Access, Excel, Power Point, and other Windows-based programs. Volunteer must make at least a 3-4 hour commitment a week.
Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
Education Summer 2009
Assist the teacher in facilitating classes and tutoring students. Other duties may include preparing lesson plans, photocopying and compiling associated paperwork.
Computers I Monday and Wednesday 10:30-11:30 am
Understand the computer and have a working knowledge of MS word
Computers II Monday and Wednesday 9:30-10:30 am
Working knowledge of MS Word, Publisher, and Powerpoint
Vocational 101 Tuesday 12:30-2:00pm
Assist teacher with one or more of the following: online job searches, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, time management, career counseling and communication and/or conflict resolution skills.
Family Enrichement Program Thursday 9:00-11:00 am
Ability to assist the teacher in helping moms create a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for her family.
Thirft Stores 2 Locations
Times may vary according to availability but volunteers must work in at least 3-4 hours increments.
Floor Attendants
Students may help with sorting, tagging and hanging clothing, assist cashier with customer purchases, creating displays and restocking merchandise.
Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Receiving
We are looking for student volunteers who are people-oriented with no physical limitations who can accept donations, write receipts and keep the receiving area organized.
Monday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
